Built for Impact: Georgetown University’s Case Study on Arabella Advisors

Earlier this year, Georgetown University McDonough School of Business released a case study titled Arabella Advisors: Built for Impact at Scale, which illustrates how bold thinking, innovative leadership, and strategic decision-making positioned Arabella as a pioneer in the philanthropic services sector over the past two decades.

The study traces Arabella’s evolution from an idea born during a business strategy class at Georgetown to a national firm that now serves nonprofits, philanthropists, changemakers, and organizations that are helping to address many of the most pressing issues of our time. As a certified B Corporation, Arabella provides a suite of services designed to help the social sector function more efficiently, effectively, and equitably—and thereby accomplish more good.

At Arabella, we pride ourselves on helping nonprofits and the donors who support them to drive more change and multiply their impact. Our clients and partners support a wide range of efforts, from training health care providers in underserved communities to advancing civil rights and social justice to transforming our food systems to create a world where delicious, nutritious, sustainably produced food is accessible to all. Working with the fiscal sponsor nonprofits we support, the Arabella team has helped deploy billions of dollars in grants to thousands of grantees working in more than 100 countries and every state in the United States, plus DC and Puerto Rico. These grants support efforts ranging from expanding access to mental health services and protecting reproductive rights to mitigating climate change. Arabella Advisors helps nonprofit partners make sure their grants comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and agreements. The firm also supports hundreds of hiring processes and handles benefits administration on behalf of the nonprofits’ employees. Click here to learn about our partners and impact

The Georgetown study details how, in its nearly 20 years of work, Arabella Advisors has grown and changed to address the needs of the social sector. For example, we recently acquired Kiwi Partners and Redstone Strategy Group to provide more holistic services to clients. It explores the strategic thinking and planning behind the firm’s journey to become a critical partner to changemakers across the philanthropic sector. Arabella was proud to participate in this case study, and we hope it will serve as an example of how businesses can be a force for good and a true partner in advancing much-needed social impact.
