Monica McHugh
Senior Director of Human Resources
Monica is a senior director of human resources on Arabella’s Partner Solutions team. In this role, she oversees the day-to-day management of the team that provides human resources services to several nonprofits that Arabella manages, including New Venture Fund, Hopewell Fund, Windward Fund, and Sixteen Thirty Fund. Monica regularly provides guidance and strategic counsel to leaders within these nonprofits on complex organizational and personnel situations.
Prior to joining Arabella, Monica spent more than 11 years in the nonprofit arena. Previously, Monica worked for Every Voice, a campaign finance reform organization dedicated to empowering the voices of everyday people in the political process. Most recently, she served as COO of the organization, leading strategic planning, employee engagement, human resources, and fiscal management. Monica is also a former board member of the Network for Victim Recovery of DC, an organization dedicated to helping all victims of crime in DC find survivor-defined justice through a collaborative continuum of advocacy, case management, and legal services.
Monica holds an MPA in public and nonprofit management from the Trachtenberg School of Public Policy & Public Administration at the George Washington University. She received a BA in political science with a minor in women, gender, and sexuality from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and with honors in general scholarship.
