Arabella acquired Blueprint R&D in May 2011 and subsequently opened Arabella Advisors’ first West Coast office. At that time, Lucy Bernholz generously agreed to shepherd the Blueprint to Arabella transition through the end of 2012. We are extremely grateful to Lucy for her work over the last two years. The San Francisco office is now led by Gwen Walden, Managing Director, who came to Arabella in May 2012 with deep experience in managing major foundation initiatives, including grantee learning networks, donor collaboratives, and strategic planning. Prior to joining Arabella, Gwen worked as an independent consultant to a variety of institutional, small family, and corporate foundations interested in early childhood education, community health, and the arts. She has 25 years of experience in philanthropy, having worked in executive, management, and program roles at major foundations. Gwen has published widely in the field, and trained dozens of professionals on philanthropic issues and practice.
