Leslie Payne works across the spectrum of Arabella’s individual, institutional and corporate client engagements and leads the firm’s research into new trends and opportunities for innovation. A senior director in Arabella’s New York office, she is also the firm’s longest-standing employee. Her past projects include heading up monitoring and evaluation for United Against Malaria, a campaign that used global media attention around the 2010 World Cup to bring focus to the fight to eradicate malaria deaths. She also advised the communications capacity building program BeHeard and translated lessons learned from it for an Arabella Issue Brief. She’s particularly interested in new tools for broadly evaluating and comparing nonprofits.
Leslie’s volunteer work includes encouraging local giving through the New York City Venture Philanthropy Fund and promoting sustainable economic and agricultural development through Puente a la Salud Comunitaria, a nonprofit that works to improve the health and economic stability of rural communities in Oaxaca, Mexico. Her past work experience includes time at the World Bank and at the Tides Foundation. She has a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley and a M.B.A. from Georgetown University.
