Brian Kathman manages the day-to-day business and drives the strategy for Arabella’s growth along with the executive team. Since joining Arabella in 2008, he has overseen a rapid expansion of staff, customers and service offerings across the firm. Brian has spent nearly 20 years as an executive, entrepreneur and consultant with a variety of high-growth, entrepreneurial companies. He helped build and run several successful companies by identifying new market opportunities or implementing fresh business models in established markets that would leverage competitive advantages, often establishing the company as the market leader. Immediately prior to joining Arabella, Brian was the founder and CEO of Hook Mobile, where he raised a round of financing and launched the company’s initial product in 18 months, and then sold the business to a mobile technology company backed by Chinese investors. He was also involved in launching and building four other companies including InphoMatch, the world’s leading text messaging technology-company, sold in 2006 for $430 million to California-based Sybase, Inc.
Brian’s experience assisting in the growth of new companies has extended internationally as both an entrepreneur and consultant. In 2001, he coordinated the implementation and development of an office in Sao Paolo, Brazil for a U.S.-based firm, and in 2005, he developed an international growth plan for a startup in Beijing, China. Brian is a third-generation entrepreneur with a B.S. in Marketing from Indiana University’s Kelly School of Business and an International Executive M.B.A. from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business.
